Sharing some love

Christmas is the time of sharing and loving. We always hear this saying Its better to give than to receive but in my situation, I received more than what I have expected. So now is the time for me to share of what I have and give back those blessings given to me. No matter how big or small. Its not about the amount and how expensive the thing is. However, it is the thought that counts.

After couple months of collecting and buying things. At last! our balikbayan box for my family is already full and ready to go by next week. I wish I can put myself into the box and ship myself..haha! I am just so happy right now. Thanks to hubby for helping me all the way. It feels good when you know  you make people happy in simple ways. Happy Holidays!

More Christmas Cards

As what I had said on my previous post, I had to make more Christmas cards to send for our family and friends. Besides from my very busy schedule this week, I keep thinking that I have to make more cards as soon as possible since Christmas is just days from now. So here are the rest of the Christmas cards that I made recently ;).

More VS Scents

***This is not a sponsored post***

Hubby and I went to the mall today to redeem my secret reward card that I got when we shop there the other week. I was hoping it was more than the minimum amount  but the gift card I got was only worth $10 which is still fine with me. So I bought this 3 Beauty Rush body mist which comes from different scents which are the Berry Cosmo, Plumdrop and Whipped cream and winter pear. It is 3 for $25 dollars and I only paid $15 of my pocket since the gift card is worth $10. I really like the smell of those Victoria Secret's fragrances.I might give these ones to my sisters for them to try and see if they also like it. How about you guys? What type of body mist do you like at VS?

Christmas shopping ideas at Zappos

Christmas is just right around the corner and people are going crazy buying presents for their love ones.  Shopping centers are very crowded and busy. Hubby and I went to the mall the other week to give one of us an idea on what gifts we will give to each other. Aside from video game related stuff that he really like, one thing that he also want is The North Face jacket. When we were strolling inside the mall area, I found the black jacket with The North Face brand but they don't have the right size for him. Later that night, I was browsing the internet and look for that jacket  with the right size and I found it at Zappos. I also found couple things that I might also get but it will not be for him but for myself, it is The North Face boots for women. So I bookmarked it right away and will surely order it from their site and made my Christmas shopping easier.

How about you guys? Are you done with your Christmas shopping? One thing that I can advice to you to avoid the stress this holiday season is by doing your Christmas shopping online. It gives you comfort of home without battling the crowds in the Malls or in some cases, bad weather. It saves you time and gas to travel.

Brownies anyone?

After a long day, i decided to baked a brownies  for hubby's midnight cravings. I admit, I'm not one of those people who's into sweets. I mean I do like to try it but after awhile, I get bored of eating it (lol).

Here's how:
You just need vegetable oil, water, 2 large eggs and Pillsbury Chocolate fudge milk. You also need a mixing bowl, measuring cup, spatula and a baking pan. Its very simple and quick. Just combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir it 50 times with spoon. Then preheat the oven for  350 degree Fahrenheit  and baked it for 35 minutes and you're done. Best if served with chocolate ice cream.

My Christmas Wishlist

The family of my hubby asking what would be our Christmas wish list. Hmm, I don't know really. I'm not used to ask anything from somebody for some reason. Okay, okay. Since I've been given a chance to ask what I want for myself that would be something to wear like shoes or sweater. Something for my hobby like art papers (for card making), printer or camera/camcorder. Something to put my things in like wallet or a purse. What else?(lol) Anything really!...Oh and before I forgot, this is my wish-list of all. A box full of stuff for my family back home ;).

As what hubby said, I'm always easy to pleased.  Yeah, he is right, I am not picky. Anything that I received and will receive is always appreciated and thankful for. For me, Christmas is not all about presents and material things, it is the love that we have to give to the people we cherished and treasure.

Christmas embellishments

As what I had posted on my blog last month, I had our tree up the month of November after Halloween and started to decorate our place of Christmas stuff since then. When I was in the Philippines, we used to make our own Christmas tree including those ornaments and lanterns are made out of anything. From the coconut broomstick (walis tingting), cottons, Chinese colored papers, bamboo sticks, etc.

Here's my pair share of our fake Christmas tree. I wanted to try the fresh ones because I love the scents it may bring to the entire apartment but we decided not to since we have our cats and they might play and eat the leaves. The rest of the decorations were used from previous Christmas. Some of those were given to us by my in laws and his family's side.

Natural toothpaste

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Toms of Maine. All opinions are 100% mine.

It was April this year when I had this infected tooth which cause my face swollen so bad and looks really huge. We went to the dentist and find out that my wisdom tooth was infected and they had to pull it out. It was not a fun experience I believe.

Since I have a sensitive gums, that made me realize I have to take good care more of my teeth and gums in order to avoid dental problems in the future. When we went grocery shopping couple weeks ago, we came across to the oral care area and hubby found this Tom's Of Maine toothpaste and mouthwash. Hubby was really interested to it since it was made by natural ingredients which gives cavity protection and uses powerful natural flavor oils and a patent-pending botanical extract to provide long-lasting fresh breath. After trying it for couple days, I like using it since it has a mild taste compare strong minty one. It feels so fresh and clean. My gums haven't bleeding yet. So far so good.

How about you guys? Have you tried Tom's of Maine toothpaste before? I would love to hear your experience of this product and by the way, they have a contest called  That's Wicked Fresh contest page and you'll get a chance to win a gift card worth  $500. And be a follower on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Snowman Christmas Card

Another tradition on Christmas is to send your family and friends a Christmas card. I don't usually buy a card because I myself make my own Christmas card. Aside from cost effective, it is also more personalized and made by your own uniqueness.

Below are the first batch that I made. It is Snowman Christmas cards. We're going to send these ones to my in-laws house, grand parent's house and granma's house.

24 chocolate days 'til Christmas!

Its 24 days until Christmas! Yep, I'm counting down the days now. Christmas is really in the air huh? I can hear Christmas songs now played on the radio. See Christmas decorations and lights in every houses in our neighborhood.

Anyway, hubby got each one of us an Advent Calendar a week ago. It is a Christmas calendar filled with 24 milk chocolates. It has a corresponding numbers from 1-24. It means that you will open the tiny box everyday and eat the chocolate inside of it from day of December first until Christmas day. Every  candy has different Christmas design and drawing you'll see inside.

Its one of their Christmas tradition of hubby and his brother  when they were kids. I myself never tried this before and I find it  pretty cool and fun. It makes easier for me to countdown the days til Christmas by just opening the box of chocolate everyday.

Date night with hubby

We are on a budget right now since holiday is right around the corner and we wanna save money for us to buy Christmas presents for the family. Its our day off and hubby wanted to do something just for both of us. So we went to Avalon theater. It is an inexpensive theater which plays movie that is already comes out in a  big theater couple months ago. It is not really bad since it cost us $2.50 per person only. They also have an arcade for you to play on. We arrived there half hour before the movie so we end up playing into their  "Wunderland" games. We won 210 tickets and I exchange it with mini coin purse and 5candies (lol).  Then, when we enter  inside, I was little bit surprise coz the theater was half a size of the normal one. Well, we don't  really mind since we wanna see the movie Despicable Me. The film was absolutely fun, enjoyable and  adorable to watch. Then after, we went to our favorite place to dine in at Joy Teriyaki

I'm glad we still manage to spent time together without spending more bucks in our pocket. Its another wonderful experience with hubby .It was fun indeed :).

Blackfriday experience

For those who don't know what Black Friday is. It is the day after thanksgiving where in most retailers  in the United States is having a huge sale. Most of the stores open very early like 4am or earlier. It is traditionally the beginning of Christmas shopping season.

As you guys know, we live near in the shopping center and most of the stores like Best buy, Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Hallmark, World Market, etc are just walking distance in our apartment. When hubby picked me up after work about 9pm (Thanksgiving day), we drove by the mall and saw a lot of people waiting outside  Old Navy and Best Buy store with there coats, blankets and tents. No kidding! They've been sitting there for  hours very cold just to get those great deals that the stores offer.

I actually work Black Friday and  experience how busy it is. Geeezz! The store was so crowded and full of people. It was really crazy. There were bunch of people waiting in a long line at the register area.  Then  after  work, hubby and I went to target to buy the things that are marked down since they also have  a 2-day sale. Unfortunately, the things were on sale were already gone (lol). Well, I kinda expected it since we arrived there after 7 in the evening and probably it was already gone 30 minutes after they open that morning. So we ended up eating at their little food court area and drive back home.

I'm Thankful and Blessed

Its thanksgiving day! It's the day of giving thanks for all the blessing that we received this whole year. I just got home from dinner at my in laws house. Though I missed the dinner together with them because I have to work until 9pm tonight,  I'm still happy that I got the chance to see and chat with them for awhile. I had a busy and long day at work and haven't been eating since 1 o'clock in the afternoon so I was really starving to death when I got there. Good thing there were bunch of food waiting for me (lol).

For me, the real essence of thanksgiving is to be grateful of what you have and appreciate  every part of it. I have plenty to be thankful for everyday. I thank God for all the blessing He have given me. Life has been really good even though there are times that we encounter struggles, we still overcome it.  For the life. For the good health. For my family back home that they are fine and ok. For the great marital relationship that I have with my hubby though there are times we encounter bumps in our road  but the love that we have  made us strong and intact with each other. For our family who always there to support and loved us with no condition.  For our friends and the  nice people who surround us. For everything in general.

I'm so thankful and Blessed. Thank you Lord for everything.  I couldn't ask for more. I don't have everything but I have enough :). Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I love VS!

Hubby and I including one of our friend went to Clackamas Town Center today to get some Christmas gift ideas. We are just looking  and strolling around different stores in the mall. I don't usually ask something for hubby then suddenly when I enter inside Victoria Secret store, I found bunch of stuff that I  really like . I'm  not used to this but I cant help it, I found these Pure Seduction Deluxe Gift Bag and fell in love with it. This comes with refreshing body mist, body wash, body lotion and also the purse for  only $24.00 . Plus, they also give us a secret rewards card. Each card may worth at least $10, $50, $100 or $500. We can't tell yet  what it is worth until Dec. 1- 19 on our next purchase. I wish it will be above $50 so I can spend more (lol) but either way, I'm happy of what I got and I'm so loving it. Thanks hubby!

It's a snow!

We were at the food court eating when hubby's friend said we gonna be stuck in the Mall for awhile. I asked him why and he said it started to snow. I got excited and ran through the entrance door to see if it is really snowing. And yep, it is!

This is my second time I've experience snow and I still feel fascinated by it. The beautiful, white and  serene surroundings. One thing that I don't like about it is the coldness and its freezing temperature.   We don't have that much snow last year. I only only experience it just in one day. However, it started early this year and I  heard that  we gonna have a bad winter and more snow. I hope not! because that might be dangerous for the drivers out there since the road is gonna be icy and may cause the car to skid. Just a reminder for everyone, please drive carefully and safely in order to avoid accident.

Managing your credit

Hubby and I are on top of putting our priorities. Especially on paying our bills on time. We already learned our lesson when Hubby's credit score dropped to low or  average when we missed paying one of our utility bills  that  we used to lived at our old apartment and it end up to a collection agency. That was the one reason we couldn't afford to get any mortgage and a house loan.

After we paid the collection agency, hubby's credit started to build again. Though it is still in fair right now, it is good so far since  we are working on how to improve our credit before we will purchase a house so that we are able to get a lower interest rate. It is also good to know that there are companies out there that will help you find the right type of mortgage loan that suit your need and right lender to help you save money on your home purchase.

Switching to medical field

Ever since before, I always wish that one of the members of our family is into medical field. Unfortunately, no one is interested with it. Maybe because it is cost alot of money and my family couldn't afford to send anyone to a medical degree.

Hubby is not feeling well lately and I am end up worrying about him especially when there are times that I don't know what to do nor don't know any first aide treatment (lol). This made me think going back to school in  a medical field. I want to learn and I want to take care of people especially my loved ones. Hubby and I have talked about this for a month now. Hopefully by next year, I will  go to school and  study as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) for a start and will proceed to LPN (License Practical Nursing) or will go higher . I just hope everything will go with the flow. So help me God :).

TAG! My Perfect Imperfections

This tag is been running around YouTube and started by Andrea's choice. A video in which anyone or a girl in particular can share or talk about 3 things that they think imperfections about themselves and 3 things they  like about themselves. I find it interesting and I wanted to make a video response but my camcorder was broken (I accidentally step on it and until now, its still not working).

Instead of a video, I tagged myself and made a response by writing it  here on my blog. So here are the 3 things that I think my imperfections and 3 things that I like about myself.

Dislikes

Forehead - well as you can see in the picture, my forehead carry almost half space on my face (lol). That is why I made a bangs to cover the huge portion of my forehead.

Skin - I have a very sensitive skin especially when I came here in the US. I started to have lots of pimples and it usually leave dark spots. I easily get bruises every time I hit something  and I do scar  lot.

Arm- I have muscles. I don't know if you guys can see it but my arm looks big and needs to be toned.

Likes

Hair - I have a straight long black hair. I would say it is easy to manage and I can make any styles that I want without damaging it.

Nose - I would say that my nose is not that tall nor short.

Height - I am 5 feet and 4 inches tall. I like it because my height is proportion to my body since I weight 106-110 lbs. I just wish I can maintain it forever..(wink!).

For me, this tag remind us that nobody is perfect. If we have these imperfections, don't bring ourselves down. Instead, we should all embrace these little quirky things about ourselves that make us who we are as a human, a loving and unique individual.

Health benefits

After  many years of working, my father in law is going to retire by next year. He's been hurting lately and the doctor says that he couldn't do the kind of job that he's been doing right now. He has this surgery couple years ago at his back which cost a lot of fortune. Good thing that the healthcare insurance covered almost everything. From the hospital bills, doctor's appointment, prescription, etc.

One thing that my father in law worried of retiring is that he will lost his medical insurance which means he have to pay on his own. The company he's working right now has a great health benefits. Now, he's searching for best health insurance quotes with  discount medical insurance policies which he can afford and pay every month which will able him to continue access quality care of his health.

Manny Pacquiao defeats Antonio Margarito

It was a great fight! Manny Pacquiao won via unanimous decision over Antonio Margarito. A 12 round fight was full of excitement. I was holding my breath in every single round. It was a tough fight for Manny since he is smaller but he still manage to beat Margarito. Round 4 of the fight, Margarito's face began to swell. Then with each round, Margarito’s face worsened.

I was really excited watching this fight from the start of the event. Honestly, I'm not into boxing but the match made me watch it. I never regret seeing it. Two great boxers lasts in 12rounds of punching. I'm proud of you Manny for being such a small but terrible boxer. Another victory for the family, Filipinos and the country. Congratulations Manny Pacquiao!

Does Lee Da Hae insults Filipinos?

I came across to Facebook today and one of my friend posted a video regarding this Korean actress from My Girl and Green Rose Lee Da Hae imitates  3 different accent (American,British and Filipino) in a sentence “Excuse me; I'm a little bit thirsty. Can I have a glass of water please?"

Alot of Filipinos reacted to the video and find it very insulting especially to the English teachers in the country.

At first, I found it a little bit offensive for the reason that I disagree that it was a Filipino accent. This came from a country in which some people can't understand nor speak English and most Korean go to Philippines just to learn and study English.

She apologizes right away on her twitter account. As a Filipino, I will never let anyone ruin the reputation of our fellowmen especially Filipino teacher who are competent enough in teaching different field of studies. However, we are just human. We are not perfect. Let's not be hypocrite. We Filipinos also make fun of our own accent, it just happen that other race making fun of us and it was aired on television. Sometimes we tend to do foolish things and there are times that our intention is good but others misunderstood it. Let us try to forgive others and forgive her. This is just my two cents and you have yours. Feel free to comment.

I am Manny and she is Inoue

Hi everyone, my name is Manny. I'm a Norwegian Forest cat. I am one year and half months old. I have a sister named Inoue. Our fur is white as a snow. Though we have the same color, you can tell the difference through our eyes and size. My eyes have two colors, green on the left and blue on the other side while Inoue both have emerald green eyes. I weight more heavier than my sister. I also have a fluffy tail. My parents adopted us when we were one week old. They are the one who gave our names. The name Manny was taken from a famous boxer Manny Paquiao while the name Inoue was from an Anime character Naruto.

Manny
Inoue
I am very calm, behave and smart. Innoe likes to play, jump, climb and sometimes it annoys me because she's noisy(lol). I like to sleep a lot while she loves to watch tv and stay active.  We are indoor cats and litter box trained. We love each others company most especially around with people. We are very affectionate and child friendly.

Our loving parents just moved into their own place. Sadly, they couldn't keep us since pets are limited into two and we are all four. They don't have a choice but to find us a better place to stay in. Luckily, someone called in and was interested on us. They are a loving family as well. They love cats and they provide us safe and  loving home.
After a month, the family that took them called and let us know that they were doing fine, still adjusting to the new place and they got them fixed together . Looks like they are in good hands and well taking cared of with these new foster parents. Hubby and I were so glad that we find them a better home which is safe and secure and a loving family  who are  also a pet lover.

Wan't more candies?

Everyone loves chocolates! Who doesn't? Well, I'm not really a sweet eater but i do love to try them. Ferrero Rocher and hersheys are my favorites while hubby likes Reese's peanut butter cups and m&m partner with peanut butter.
Just after Halloween, hubby and I went to store to buy more candies. This is the time were most Halloween candies were marked down into half of its price. Though we still have bunch of candies from our party but this ones, we're going to send it to my family back home. We only bought 4 packs of different candies  since there's no much left when we went to Walmart the other day. We'll check out other stores if they have it on sale. So more to come!
